The Estella Romero Scholarship
About ScholarshipThis scholarship was created in honor of Estella A. Romero by members of her family in 2015.
BackgroundThe Estella A. Romero Scholarship contains the subtitle “Seeding an Education” because our mother always stressed the importance of education, academic success, and personal responsibility.
Our mother was taken by a drunk driver before she could witness the success of her children and before she could influence the lives of her grandchildren. Although our mother can never be replaced, her positive influence on others and ability to change lives is embodied in the scholarship named after her. As such, this scholarship is meant for victims of DWI/DUI who plan to pursue a higher education. Our family intends for this scholarship to evolve into a full tuition and fees scholarship offered to multiple recipients on a yearly basis. |
How to ApplyThe Estella A. Romero Scholarship "Seeding An Education" is currently limited to one yearly recipient, who will receive two installments of $250 per semester. The first installment will be awarded the first week of August and the second installment will be awarded upon receipt of a class schedule for the Spring semester. If for any reason the Fall semester recipient is not awarded the Spring semester installment, the Spring installment will be awarded to one of the finalists from the original applicant pool.
